“Writing the Story on Your Heart” 8-Week Crash Course
Welcome, friends, to your 8-week crash course on writing your first book!
With this online course, you are invited to a personal and intimate experience that will finally move you from dreaming about writing your first book to taking actionable steps towards getting it done.

This is the place where your heart meets paper and your journey beautifully begins! That story that you have felt stirring in your spirit for as long as you can remember… This is the year that we are finally going to give it a voice! It’s time, my friend. Time to sing that song that has been sitting on your heart.
Think you don’t have what it takes or it’s not the right time? Let me interrupt those thoughts and ask you one important question: What if? What if you decided today to set your fears aside and shut down all the naysayers, doubts, and insecurities that hold you back. I want you to dream of a world where your book exists and it’s being sold on bookshelves and shared with the people who need it most. That dream doesn’t have to stay shelved, waiting for a “better” day. Those people need your heart today. The time for that dream is now. What if you decided to just say, “Yes!” to an adventure that will challenge you, excite you, reward you, and launch you into a new and beautiful tomorrow? One thing is certain… You’ll never look back, I promise.
So, all that said, I wanted you to know that this is my personal invitation to you, my friend, wrapped in as much hope and encouragement as I can squeeze onto this one little page: Take a chance on yourself! Allow me to walk you through 8-weeks of support, accountability check-ins, tips, tools, insights, and some really fun challenges. You’ve got this and I’ve got you! Just say, “Yes!”

Why it’s important to share your story:
I believe that you are here, on this page today, not by accident, but by divine design. Your story is important. It matters more than you possibly even know. Yes, it’s about you and your journey, but it’s also about so much more. It’s about all those people that God will use your book to touch, lift, heal, and hold. Regardless of what your book is about, God will use your words to create divine collisions, my friend. It will help others through inspiration, instruction, education, encouragement, and so much more! I may personally write in the self-help, Christian genre, but God is not contained in a box and His heart through your words can be used in all kinds of places and spaces. So, whatever your genre of choice, know that your book has purpose and you bring so much value to this table. Shine, bright, friend! And never doubt your earthy and eternal impact.
Writing a self-help book or your personal story of hope, joy, faith or overcoming? This is definitely the space that God has placed me in over the past several years. I wholeheartedly believe that no matter who you are or what your story entails, there are people in this world that desperately need the hope that will be shared in those not-yet-written pages. They need the comfort of knowing they are not alone; that people have journeyed through this valley or faced this same mountain and they have overcome. They need to feel seen and held in a world that screams, “You are alone.” They need actionable, proven steps from a real, down-to-earth person that will help them get unstuck from whatever it is that holds them back. People don’t want cookie cutter, anymore. They want *you* in all your perfectly imperfect glory. And your book can do just that for someone. The truth is my favorite types of books are those written by first-time, unknown authors. Wanna know why? Because they are on a level of real and raw that is unable to be easily duplicated. Books written by *untrained* authors are beautiful and full of passion, and the journey always leads me into a deeply personal world that greatly encourages my heart. That is what you bring to the table, my friend. And the world needs more it. This world needs more of you. So, let’s do this thing!
Just so we can be fully transparent on the journey:
I wrote a book, A Time to Dance: Chasing Joy in Difficult Seasons, back in 2021 and self-published in 2022. Since then, I have been asked by numerous individuals to put together some tips and tools on how to start the process of writing your first book, hence the idea behind this e-course and journey.
What you’ll find: I’m going to give you all the tips, tools, and insights that I gained on my own writing journey (and the years since) so that you can begin yours. In addition to that, I’m going to give you challenges (not for critiquing, but simply for accountability) and we are going to walk through the full 8-weeks together, hand-in-hand. This is a deeply personal experience. I’m going to check in with you regularly and see how you’re doing. My hope is to not only help you discover your own unique voice, but to also help you destroy the psychological or emotional barriers that have been holding you back so that you can write with direction, true vulnerability and joy! At the end of the process, I will even give you my best tips on self-publishing, book signings, and more, should you decide to move forward in that self-promotion route.
What you won’t find in this course are tips and tools on getting picked up by a traditional publisher. It was never my desire to go the traditional publisher route (for my own reasons). I knew that if my book got picked up by a traditional publisher, I would explore that option when the time came, but my goal was always just to share my story in the most organic way possible, keeping it unfiltered, raw, and true to my heart. Please note: I have absolutely nothing against traditional publishing, and even have some experts from that field included in the course interviews, but given that I’m teaching from my own experience and journey, I do not have a lot of information to provide on getting your book published the more traditional route. That said, if you want to go that route, yourself, you can absolutely still use this course to get started on the writing process side of it.
The Nitty-Gritty:
- Dates: WINTER CLASS IN SESSION NOW, SPRING 2025 BEGINS MON. APRIL 7TH
- Cost: FREE (future 8-week courses may incur a cost)
- How It Works: Every Monday, you will be provided with a variety of resources, sent straight to your email inbox, based on the topic for that week. You will then be asked to do a challenge of some sort. Every challenge submitted via email by the following Sunday night will receive a personal response from me. These challenges ARE NOT to critique, but more to have some kind of an accountability partner to help you work through your first few weeks of writing and get you rolling. There will also be a once-a-week group Zoom meeting where you can visit with other attendees going through this writing process, just like you, to brainstorm and encourage one another. At times, we may even have special guests to help you along the way. I will also use these Zoom meetings to answer any questions and cover topics relevant to what we are discussing that week.
- The Catch: If possible, I would like to kindly ask that if you decide to sign up for this FREE SECOND RUN of our newly designed 8-week Crash Course, you leave us a review at the end of the course so that we can continue to grow and improve in our design and approach.
